Following the selection of Yazd as the capital of ACD countries؛

Fatima Rahbar Yazdi, a tourism journalist and public relations officer at the Handicrafts Deputy of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, said: “Yazd has always been a center for dialogue and peaceful coexistence of religions, a cradle of civilization and history, a sustainable tourist city, and today it has been chosen as the capital of ACD member cities.” She added: “One of the very rich capacities of Yazd, in addition to tourism and industry, is handicrafts which have a wide variety. The intelligence, wisdom, and creativity of Yazdi people have been depicted through arts such as Zaribafi (weaving with gold and silver threads), Golabetoon (creating fabrics with gold and silver), Termeh weaving (a type of silk fabric), and even arts like Motabi (weaving goat hair ropes).” She continued: “Yazdi people used all available resources in their city to procure their necessary items for life. They used wood from Ahar trees found on the streets in their architecture, flowers for making bricks, as well as materials like pottery and other handicrafts which show high-quality craftsmanship.” This official said: “What has led to Yazd achieving such titles is all related to the people of this city and local community who have preserved their culture, architecture, civilization, handicrafts, and cultural heritage over time with pride.”
