The governor of Yazd and the ambassadors and diplomats of the member countries of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue planted saplings in their own names at the “Garden of Nations” in Yazd. The governor of Yazd, in this tree-planting ceremony, emphasized the importance and position of tree planting in Iran, saying: The tree-planting ceremony is held every year on the eve of spring and the third week of the last month of the Persian calendar throughout Islamic Iran.
He also pointed out the importance of tree planting and preserving them in Islam, saying: In Islam, respect for nature and environmental rights are emphasized, to the extent that breaking branches of trees is considered equivalent to breaking angel wings.
Mehran Fatemi also noted: It is our honor to follow the leadership that every year plants saplings with our own hands and invites people to be kind to nature. The governor of Yazd continued: It is deeply regrettable that in such joyous days, instead of tree planting and watering, the world witnesses mercilessly breaking angel wings and shedding innocent blood in Gaza.
concluded by mentioning launching a campaign to plant one billion trees in Iran and invited ambassadors and diplomats on behalf of the kind-hearted, peace-loving, and hardworking people of Yazd to plant a sapling in their name as a symbol of peace, friendship, and respect for children and women victims of war and bloodshed especially in Gaza.
