In a joint meeting, Mehran Fatemi, the governor of Yazd, met with ambassadors from ACD member countries to discuss the capacities and opportunities of Yazd province.
The governor welcomed the ambassadors and diplomats present at the meeting, saying: “Your warm presence in a city that is gradually mixed with affection and security is appreciated, and we are honored to host you dear ones in the second oldest city in the world, the city of clay and wisdom, a symbol of clay and knowledge, a city of history and experience.”
He continued: “I hope this event will be the beginning of a new and joyful transformation towards greater cooperation and convergence among the nations of this ancient continent, which will pave the way for mutual enhancement and comprehensive participation among members.”

Mehran Fatemi stated that Yazd has always been known as a safe passage in history, saying: “This city, with hardworking and religious people, has provided a suitable platform for conducting commercial and cultural exchanges between various international communities.”
The governor then highlighted Yazd’s unique attractions in cultural, tourism, architectural fields as well as its high capacities in various economic and commercial sectors. He emphasized that Yazd is ready to participate in and develop cooperation with members of the ACD.

Fatemi also mentioned plans to introduce Yazd as the tourism capital of ACD member countries in 2024.
He stated that Yazd has planned various programs and events to deepen cooperation among ACD member countries in tourism. These include hosting an international tourism conference with the presence of tourism ministers from ACD member countries from April 30th to May 1st, 2024 as one of Asia’s most important tourism events.

He also mentioned events such as organizing conferences for tour guides and tourism activists from ACD member countries, holding a ceremony to commemorate the registration of historical sites in Yazd as World Heritage Sites, and hosting an international conference on preserving historical and architectural monuments with the participation of university presidents from ACD member countries as part of planned events for 2024.

In conclusion, the governor invited ambassadors and diplomats present at the meeting to participate in planned programs and events scheduled in Yazd for 2024.
